I am a psychological scientist studying the neurocognitive processes, personality traits, motives, and societal factors that drive us to hurt others. My work broadly focuses on predicting and preventing violence and the associated harms.
I also study the consequences of aggression f0r perpetrators and survivors. My research synthesizes traditional experimental design with contemporary neuroimaging techniques (e.g., fMRI, fNIRS) and data science techniques.
As a secondary line of research I am interested in improving psychological science by examining the quality of our measures and various practices. I am also a proponent of open science practices.

In addition to my research I am also a long-time musician, have dabbled in graphic and web design, and have substantial experience in working on motors of all kinds. You will (eventually) find content from each of these areas of my life on this website!

I encourage you to take a look around and to reach out if you have questions, thoughts, or perhaps a really cool research idea for us to collaborate on.
